Where else on the machine can you find the serial number besides the ID Tag? Mine is missing the ID tag because when i got it from goodwill it ended up snagging and ripped off and i didnt notice. And i didnt take a picture either in store. I also ask because the G3- Avalir have a ID Tag on the motor, and tech drive. SO i was wondering if kirby did the same concept with the 1-CB.

To my knowledge

Models prior to the Tradition only had the Serial # on the ID tag on the bottom.  From Tradition onward they began molding the ID into the fan case.

Harley,

That practice of stamping the serial # on the fan case to the left of the headlight actually started with the Classic III 2CB.

I stand corrected, I never liked the Classic III, so I guess I didn't acknowledge this fact.  (why you ask?)  I didn't like the color,  I didn't like the bag material, I didn't care for the belt lifter design, which had just gone plastic, and I didn't like the original pointy handle.

However, for the Omega the serial number is only available on the name plate.
