You know, when Imfirst came on here, I was amazed at all the rare and interesting machines. Now, I look upon my collection with disgust, as I don't really have any good vacs. Mostly just plastic vacs I get at GoodWill. They're usually $10, which is all I can afford with my allowance. I've never even seen a Hoover Convertible at a thrift shop. I once found a Model G which I have.

My good vacs:

Kirby Legend II
Kirby Heritage II
Fantom Thunder
Electrolux Model 30
Electrolux Model G

I don't have any rare machines, as I can never afford them. Rare vacs are never at my local flea market.
Thanks for listening to me rant about my vacuums.

All good things come to those who wait as Rome was not built in a day. There are machines out there and they will find you. Save your pennies for something you really want and you will get it!

I used to be this way too
I didn't have many good Vacuums either
I've waited, and now, I have Vacuums ranging from 1905-2015
The time will come
I know you're capable of finding good old machines
I wish you good luck
Don't give up

Im 51

It took me 30 years to find some of my holy grail machines, I'm still looking for a few, trust me, The old saying time goes faster as you get older is SO TRUE, when I was a teenager I had never seen a Lewyt, nor many other vacs I now have, Don't give up, Start going to estate sales and auctions, that's where you will find your best machines.

It Takes time, I remember when I only had one vacuum, a Electrolux 506, From their it grew. i can remember when I couldn't find any convertibles or 652 as we call them, now I have loads. My collection spans from a Electrolux 1129 from 1929 right up to the latest dyson v6 total clean. I think its great to have many vintage and modern machines.

I agree on estate sales, they may be a better way to find the older machines. Nothing older than Hoover Elites tend to turn up at the thrift stores here anymore. You might also try to go the clubhouse sales in retirement communities where older people live. I tend to see a lot of older vacuums at those. But those might just be a Florida thing.

Have you tried any flea markets?

Young dude....you're just getting started. Very few in here can say they had more at your age. You're defining your tastes now which will really help you in the future. When you get a car/job and able to get around more, the whole world will open up to you.

If you concentrate on just a couple of hobbies, you'll do so much more than if you spread yourself thin with everything that ever interests you....ask me how I know...lol.
