If the bag was attached, it would be belching dust the entire time. I don't recall Kirby ever advocating air purification as a use.
Actually, Filtex, Rexair, Filter Queen, Air-Way, and Electro Hygiene - advocated using their machines as allergy relievers by treating the filters (or water) with eucalyptus oil or menthol and allowing them to run. The Air-Way upright advocated changing the air in a 'sick room' by inserting the hose with crevice tool between the window sill and a slightly opened window. The hose was attached to the blower, so the machine would act as an 'exhaust fan'. |

I can't say if it is or isn't, but I can tell you this. Back in the years when I was training the sales staff in Oak Park, Illinois, almost everybody smoked. At the end of the day we took a Classic III, Tradition, etc. filled the crystalator with vanilla extract on a cotton ball, put on a dirt meter and let it run for fifteen minutes.
It worked GREAT! |
