Hello everyone! I have an interesting question for you.

I just recently saw the Panasonic Plush Pro power head. It sounds cool, but I feel like they over-thought the concept a bit. It's $249 and has four carpet settings, and vents that automatically open and close for plush carpet...

The Miele SEB 228, or Electro Plus, is only $209, and has five height settings and big back wheels so it doesn't sink in the carpet.

I haven't tested both of them, but I've heard they both work okay. Do you think Panasonic over-thought this a little bit? The Miele Soft Carpet has a special setting that adjusts suction and brushroll speed, but that's pretty simple. However that unit all together costs more...

Which do you think is best? I personally like Mieles and think that Panasonic over-complicated their power head a bit.

Thanks!

I've used both before from my MD central vacuum dealer at my current vacuum store, however the Miele's powerhead was called the Complete and the Panasonic's powerhead was called the Response. Those two came out from MD recently, I think they were both really nice and simple. The Panasonic was really impressive to use on very high shag or plush carpets and the Miele had a nice swivel neck. I liked the Panasonic powerhead better because the brushroll spun faster, I thought the edge cleaning was better, and it was cheaper to purchase. Plus the parts are alot cheaper to replace than the Miele powerhead.

My understanding is Panasonic is leaving the US market.
