I have two of these one doesn't run and the other does. This one that does run has blue on the end and front of the machine. I was wandering if this was a special model or if it was a rebuild etc.

That was actually a later run model. Usually the rebuilds that were hammertone blue were done by metropolitan and they in my opinion were painted rather sloppy. They also had a rebuilt by metropolitan plate riveted on to the machine.

The end of the run of XXX's were made to look like the LXI, which was the top of the line model. Here's my very late run model XXX with the paper bag option, plus a pic of the front cover.

For all the information. Is $75 for a XXX is a good deal. I am thinking about getting it. It has the original hose and cord and a few of the original attachments. I have the rest of them to make a complete set. I just don't know if $75 is really worth it. The one above I got for $25 and it had a made up cord and after market hose. The original Wands and carpet tool.

That's pretty expensive...it's the most produced single model of vacuum. I only paid a dollar for mine.

They were $69 brand new. In my opinion, it would have to be PERFECT and in original condition, with the belden plug on the cord, clean exhaust filter, and all rubber trim parts (like dusting brush bumper) original and uncracked, to be worth $75. Just my opinion.
