besides the Constellation and the Celebrity, what other Hoover models shared similar floor cleaning accessories(unpowered)? Somebody told me the Sprint, but I'm not seeing anything that looks familiar.

Thanks. The reason I asked is because I use a late model Constellation(model 858) fairly regularly and I'm wearing the adjustable brush out on the floor head. I found two on eBay and I'm bidding on them, NOS. I bought another floor head off eBay last yr, so that is my reserve although the head is an older design(same adjustable brush though, no edge cleaning slots on the head).

The metal clip rails that the brush rides against just wear into the plastic brush strip....you can tell this was a trip to the vac shop at least once a yr to get a new brush strip. And I've given up on finding the teflon like seals for the wand tubing segments.....they seem to be unobtainium. 

I was trying to figure out the best field entry on eBay when I look for this stuff.

The Celebrity II did NOT use the Quadraflex Powermatic. When the Celebrity II was introduced in 1975, it used a power nozzle (yes also called the "Powermatic"), but it was built more like a Eureka power head, used a non Hoover made GS Electric motor, and had the same beater bar brush roll as the Convertible and Dial-A-Matic. That Powermatic was then used in 1979-1982 on the first of the next Celebrity IV in regal brow, and the set also in Olympic Blue. 

Then when the Honey Brown and Rust, and Mint Green QS Celebrity was introduced in 1983, the Powermatic was re vamped, and the Quadraflex was added.

Yeah, I don't care anything about the PN's...doesn't apply to my Connie and it's the only Hoover I have. I do see a lot of similarities in the non-power floor attachments across the models and yrs. I hate buying donor stuff to get parts...takes up too much valuable space. I think I may have four Electrolux PN 1's sitting in boxes waiting to be restored and that's not even a favorite PN of mine.  

We've got a very old vacuum shop here downtown....I should talk to him about what he takes in on trade and what kinda things he keeps/throws out. He stocks some belts and parts for older Electrolux, so maybe others as well. Not the friendliest bunch of people, but oh well. Mostly they sell sewing related stuff....seems to be a staple in a lot of old vac shops.

The extension wands did change, however. The ends had a metal clip, later changing to plastic with a hole to snap over the pin on the tool. But, the majority of the attachments remained the same for a very long time, changing only, in color. There was seal greige light, medium, dark, taupe, and, later, white.

Whether they were the metal clip or the plastic clip(my style), did they both still use those unobtainium recessed seals in the wands?
