James,

You are a Kirby Ultimate G.

As for me, I am a Kirby Tradition 3CB whose serial number begins with the letter "H."

I believe

That would be the Ultimate G.  I bought my Ultimate G in December 2003 which was the last of that model run before the Diamond Edition began sales.

Thanks guys. I always thought the Ultimate G looked a bit better than the diamond anyways!

I never thought much about it. I'm a classic III. That's actually my favorite vintage Kirby anyway, because it's the one my grandmother had when I was growing up. That one, and the green 1975 seats best she had, were the start of my fascination with vacuums. That's all I ever played with when I was there.

An interesting read for sure. Inaccurate however in that there was never a model 506 or 507 after World War 2. And what of the elusive R series? Having the switch in the handle would've been an added convenience for sure. Kirby makes no mention of them, but I know they were sold at the same time as the C series.

I was born in late August 1989 and the new Kirby back then was the Legend II.

As AdamBomb can attest, I am a Classic 1CR. I have always like that model...but I prefer the D50.

I was born in September of 1992, so G3... Not my favorite Kirby unfortunately. Favorites are the G5 and Sentria II.
