While at work a few weeks ago i was walking to the local sandwich shop for some lunch when i noticed the unmistakable very familiar Hoover handle sticking out of a skip. The machine was buried under a ton of smashed up plaster and rubble so i had no idea what it was i just new it was a HOOVER .I tried to pull it out but it wouldnt budge just then a workman came out of a house with a barrow full of yet more rubble he asked me what i was doing when i explained he said come back in an hour or two and i will get it out for you [no pun intended]I called back on my way home to collect whatever was on the other end of the handle and was delighted to find a scruffy but reasonably intact 612.Of course it was absolutely filthy but i chucked it in the back of my car after wrapping it in plastic sheet.Once home i had a closer look.the machine had a grey replacement bag which looked to be in a bad way .The flex had been replaced with the usual white stuff and the Bakelite hood was broken in two of course when i plugged it in it just purred away like it wasa brand new [Just what you would expect from a Hoover so over the last few weeks i have completely stripped the machine down and resprayed all the metal parts .the hood has been repaired with car filler and sprayed new brushes in the motor new brushes and bearings in the brushroll new black flex new light bulb and the bag has been washed twice and pressed .Now because the machine was in such a state and most of its original colour[gold /brown]gone i decided to give it a new look so here it is.Not sure what to do with it now as i already have tow of these?
