Hi, we had this same issue happen on my mom's Kenmore canister. What I found is if you take the two sections of the plastic hose handle apart, is that there are tabs that hold the receptacle that takes the plug from the wand in place. If those tabs break off, then the receptacle moves up and down when you push and pull on the handle as you vacuum. This makes the light and brush turn on/off as you are experiencing.
I pushed the receptacle all the way down to where it should be and superglued it into place. After it dried and I put everything back together the problem went away. There may be a more permanent solution to the issue, but it worked for me, and if it breaks again I can reglue it. Hopefully this helps. | ||
