They also make their own version of a 1980s American Electrolux

I own a perfect canister

It is my daily driver, great power and is very lightweight. I do not know how well it will hold up compared to an original Electrolux but seems to be doing well so far. My local Electrolux repair guy actually sells these in his shop. Truly one of my favorite vacs in my collection.

It seems that the patent on the design of the classic Eureka/Sanitaire fan-first upright must have expired as there seem to be many, many carbon copies of these cleaners being sold by competitors to AB Electrolux who now own all of Eureka's property and copyrights in North America. I have seen almost exact clones of Eureka/Sanitaire uprights with Dial-a-Nap or Rugulator height adjusters labelled with names like Koblenz, Relia-Vac, Rubbermaid, Karcher, Bissell and Perfect. I guess plagiary is the highest form of compliment! 🙂

Forgot to mention Eureka-clones labelled Oreck, Tornado and Johnny Vac.

Would be fun to collect as many Eureka-clones of these identical vacs with as many different brand names as possible!

(I wonder how TTI has managed to protect the Hoover Convertible design from being copied...)

Because TTI

regularly renews the patent on Convertible. If you recall,  just a few years ago, they labeled a "Savvy"   as Convertible,  to keep it in public circulation.

for myself,

collecting isn't about only one. I only have six, so I'm not hoarding.

perfect vacuums

I have the metal canister, model C101 and the plastic canister model c103. Both are very good vacuums, and are very similar to the old Electrolux. They both use the C bags and actually make Hepa cloth bags which I think are better than the bags Aerus sells. The c101 uses a two stage motor and the c103 uses a one stage motor, but both are quite powerful.

My current vacuum store carries a Oreck and Bissell versions of the Pefect, I think they are really nice machines but I still perfer a Sanitaire better in my opinion. They even have a central vacuum kit over there as well and I think it feels and performs just like a Electrolux.
