I got this Electrolux Silverado Deluxe off Craigslist today for $50. It's in excellent shape and it runs beautifully.

Nice find! That appears to be a later one with the PN5. The earlier ones came with a PN4A, which I prefer, but that's just me. The hose looks like the same third party replacement that I got with my Diamond J last week. Heck, you couldn't buy the hose new for what you paid for the whole outfit.

NICE snag!!!! Love me the 1521's. I will buy a Diamond J whenever I see one in reasonable condition.

That's in real nice shape. The 1505 Silverado was the first one I bought, but it had the Pn-4

I just bought a used hose like that on eBay for about $22 & shipping. Probably last longer than the newer aftermarkets are holding up.

I absolutely love it
It's really clean, it has very strong suction, and it is the best performing vacuum in my whole collection.
I like the vinyl hose a lot better than the woven hose my Golden Jubilee has. The woven hose loses suction where the vinyl one doesn't lose suction. Plus it's more flexible than the woven hose.

Vinyl hoses

I agree, they're much better than the woven ones. Before getting the Diamond Jubilee a couple of weeks ago, I had retrofitted all three of mine with vinyl hoses. The fact that the DJ came with one helped seal the deal.

I don't....

think I have a Lux vac with an original, cloth type hose. But man, they made some beautiful cloth hoses for sure. However, they all were leaking dogs eventually. I started a thread about trying to use clear, commercial grade heat shrink to repair hoses. Sadly, I have not made the attempt yet.....and I fear it may make them too stiff for use.....just dunno yet. It's about $30 with shipping to get about an eight foot segment. It would be best if the ends came off, but I'm not exactly sure how that's done...especially if they are pressed on.

All of a sudden I'm poor with hoses...all vinyl...a few OE that are leaking and the rest OK. I know when we bought our Diamond J new, the saleslady made a big deal about how you store that hose. If someone had the space, straight out on a floor or shelf would seem ideal. The actual wire holder they sold for the job made a big loop of the hose. I guess I've always stored them off the machine in a big loop.  I would guess that garages, barns and attics would be a terrible environ for them?

Come to think of it,  I have an old cloth hose for a G down in the basement chasing spiders, underneath a restorable G.  If the heat shrink worked,  that would be very cool to put that hose back to work.

Every time I see a decent DJ, I want to buy it. Since that was my first new Lux, I don't know why I waited so long to capture some. I honestly love cleaning with them better than all my other vacs. I love the G, but the wheels are too fragile. I love the Super J, but hate the colors. If I had a really strong 1205, I'd love them too, I suspect. The DJ is very bland in color, but well protected against abuse and a force of nature for cleaning. A lot of exaggerated bad press about the motors, but never had a bad one yet and I've been through a dozen of them repairing for friends.

I had a Diamond J for a while. It was in Fantastic shape! But one day I was in need of some money so i took it to a minimeets and was able to break even on it. That DJ was a great sweeper, but at The time, I couldn't keep it. I would like to get another someday

Do try to find another DJ someday, Andy.....make it your DD, you'll love it. They seem to be plentiful right now on craigslist and the like for reasonable prices. And they usually have all the accessories.  Wait another ten yrs and they will be harder to come by with their full compliment of accessories...like a well running Super J is right now. Sidekicks are all over eBay right now for $15-$35 normally.....some hardly used and the owners don't even know that.
