That product placement is very "Andy Warhol".

Use the low foam shampoo. There's not enough room in the water basin for any suds.

Personally, I have been using Persil, which I mix one teaspoon (measured) to a gallon of water. I have GREAT results and a wonderful smell to the carpet which lasts a long time.

The genuine Rainbow shampoo is very expensive but is almost identical in composition to Bissell shampoo in the dark blue bottles. Bissell shampoo is much less expensive and more readily available.

Adam,

Andy Warhol was an eccentric but prominent artist from the 1960's through the 1980's. He left us too soon.
He was born in Pittsburgh Pa., like I was. His parents were Slavic working class immigrants.
Google him to learn more.

As long as the chemical used for shampooing does no harm to the water basin, and causes NO suds, you should be OK. There are many chemicals that cause the Rainbow pan to haze or crack. I sold a new water basin to a woman once, who poured some mouthwash into the pan (to kill germs) and it cracked into a million little pieces before she ever got to the faucet to add water.
