Hi:

Does anyone's parts stash contain a pair of TriStar wands I might buy? I need a second set, because we have a stairwell whose ceiling is very high off the landing, and the spiders just looooooove it up there. It would also be nice not to have to remove the wands from the PN when I want wands for regular dusting jobs.

Thanks in advance!

Any bojack, friction fit wand would work, too.. And be a whole lot less expensive. Usually vac stores have them for under $5 a piece... I'd just recommend taking your Tri-Star wands in to triple-check that they fit on the end.

:-)

Hi Fred:

I already tried that- there's a problem. The wand buttons on the end of the TriStar wands get jammed if you insert one into a friction-fit wand. It's hard to get the friction-fit wand off then- and I sure as heck don't want to do anything that might damage one of the TriStar wands.

And then too, I'm a "correctness" nut, always wanting just the right factory part. Expensive preference, I can tell you.

Not to worry, they'll turn up. If not here, eBay. Thanks for the suggestion!

Found 'Em!

Two good used ones turned up on eBay at a reasonable price.

Thanks to everyone who looked in their parts stash, or offered an idea.

The TriStar's few remaining bits and pieces should all be here by later this week- I'm hoping to get pics posted soon after. With the arrival of these things, the machine will be absolutely complete, including the rare rug shoe for the floor tool, the rug tool, a manual, and even the grille for the upholstery tool. There are a lot of TriStars out there, but few of them are ready to rock 'n roll.

Unbelievable!

I bought the wands Monday from eBay, using Buy It Now.

They arrived this morning, via Priority Mail, in perfect condition, exactly as described.

I've had some problems on eBay lately, but once in awhile a seller does a superb job. Ain't it nice?

Just one more little package to go, and then my new TriStar is complete and correct...

It's Complete!

My wonderful little package from TriStar Canada arrived today, with the last few little goodies I needed. There was an afterfilter basket, two TriStar emblems (as spares), the tool caddy that clips to the wands, and best of all...

...a manual! I was amazed when I opened the package; I was expecting the usual Xeroxed copy that companies often send out for their older models. This was a pristine printed copy with a publication date of 1996 on it.

Anyway, pictures soon! This is the most complete TriStar I know of now.

Pics, I Promise!

Christine:

I promise pics soon- I work for a magazine, and we're finishing an issue right now, so time's a little tight. But soon!
