This is a continuation on another thread that had a different topic.

Panisonicvac,

You will find your cleaner's serial ID decal under the handle. If you provide Aerus with the info., they may be able to give you the model since your name plate stamp has been worn off. Here is a list of Prolux Plus models and their amps (yours appears to be rated @ 10.0A):

1572C-8.5A, 1572G-9.5A, 1717C-10.0A, 1747-10.0A, U111A-10.0A

I don't know what the differences among the 10.0A models are--some or all may be "under the hood". I did notice that yours has the optional accessory caddy. See the second page of my attachments below to see how it's used.

As for a possible filter, you may have seen someone put a carbon pre-motor filter in the bottom of the bag chamber. The exhaust filters were introduced after the Prolux series--I think the Lux 4000 household upright was first. The Lux Guardian uprights were the first to have HEPA filtration, but I don't believe any of the commercials have had it or the exhaust filter.

The Prolux series was Electrolux's first line of upright cleaners, followed by the Commercial series, Xtreme series, and Lux Commercial series (the current one). Ballpark years of the Prolux line is 1987-95.

Thank you for creating this thread. The After Filter is what I'm talking about, turns out it was this Prolux that had an After Filter on it. I did a little more research and it looks like it can fit on the older lux's including the Prolux. Someone said I had to get the filter from a Aerus dealer, turns out there are some online that you can get as well so that's what I'm going to start with, regardless my closest Aerus dealer is about 40 miles away from me.

No problem. Thanks for the link. Please post your pics on this thread, including one that shows the after filter--I didn't realize that any of the Prolux-series had them. Does it slide or snap in place?

The After Filter shows that they snap in place.

The after filters were available back when the gray 3500 series was around. You can get pre motor carbon filters from your dealers now, they started offering them a couple of years ago.

Interesting. Most of the Aerus (Electrolux) uprights I've seen on eBay and elsewhere do not have the after-filters. The gray Epic 3500 SR (U110B) and gray Epic 2500 SR (U112B) were sold from 1995-97, so they've been an option for around 20 years; guessing anyway that they weren't standard until later. Btw, the Prolux Plus sales sheet I attached to my initial post is copyrighted 1990.

Considering the fact that after-filters for tanks reappeared with the Canadian-made/USA assembled thermoplastic models in 1985 (after a hiatus of almost 30 years in the USA), I'm surprised that they weren't also available for the Discovery II, which was introduced in 1986.

I'll have to say that from a cosmetic viewpoint, it's too bad that the frames aren't offered in the different casing colors--or are they?
