Since Panasonic is getting out of the consumer business, I thought I would check their site to see if any of their canisters were still available, I was surprised to find that three of their best models are still in stock. If anyone wants one of these, I would suggest getting them now, they will probably not be available much longer. First, here is a direct link to the page for the mc-cg902, this is an awesome vacuum for the price.

Then there is the mc-cg917

And finally there is the mc-cg937

I'm not sure what the difference is between the 917 and 937, they both have the removable bag holder, I think the 937 may include a motor speed control and an upgraded power nozzle. These vacuums will work with the Kenmore Q bags, at one point, I think these were Kenmore models as well. Again, if anyone wants a great power team canister at a good price, I would definitely grab one of these. These vacuums also use a standard hose end, unlike the current Kenmore models that use a proprietary end, which really limits what attachments you can use.

I have the 917, and it is a great little vacuum.

I believe the main difference between the two, is the 917 is a one speed motor, the 937 has a variable speed motor.

difference between models

The 902 also is one speed, does the 917 have the removable bag holder? For the price, these are great vacuums. Will they last for 10 or 20 years like some other vacuums? Hard to say, but they are decent vacuums none the less. I will be sorry to see them go, I'm assuming they are just selling whatever is left, not sure if they will be making any more of them.

Yes

The 917 has a removable bag holder, it is part of the opti-flow system. The bag holder, is the bag cage like in a Air-Way vacuum, it allows air flow all around the bag, instead of just the back.

The 917 , and I assume the others as well, will pack the bag too. I like mine very much, the 360 hose is very nice, very effective power nozzle, tools are a little on the small side, bags on the expensive side, but you can buy the Q bags from Sear's less expensively.

I am sorry to see that Pani is ending sales, because I would recommend the machine very highly.

I have not used any of the newer ones, but Panisonic used to make a very good upright. I may have to shop for one before there are no more.
