I happened to see these on Sears' site.
Are these the first Kenmore canisters to come from Cleva? The purple one the hoses, floor brush and Pet Powermate look like they're from the current Progressive line but the dusting brush looks like its from the current Elite line. Weird the Power Mate doesn't seem to have a headlight. www.sears.com/kenmore-125.81614-6... The orange one the hose wand and dusting brush seem to be from the first gen Progressive line. Again no headlight, and this one the power button is on the canister. www.sears.com/kenmore-125.81214-2... |

You better order a new hose at the same time you order the machine. Hate the straight up hose connection to the canister. THAT WILL BREAK fast. The purple model's wand to tool connection is so large, the wand is unusable for baseboard cleaning without an attachment.
On the other hand, love the pretty translucent colors. |

Yep, those are made by Cleva. There should be a few more canisters coming out very soon. I think two weeks ago, I saw a brochure on the new Elite upright and I thought that thing looked ugly (Maybe not as much as the current Elite). They haven't really changed that much but just a little bit of the design, similar to when Panasonic bought Whirlpool's design where a little has changed.
If any of you members are still wanting to get those last Panasonic vacuums, now is the time to get them because they are running out very quickly. Some models have been discontinued already. They are huge holiday sales coming up including black friday. |

Use and Care guides, seem to be very informative. |

Hopefully these don't suffer from the motor burnouts that I've seen on some of the newer Kenmore canisters. |

Unless I've missed something, when going to the Kenmore web site, under products, canister vacuums, nothing shows now, earlier this year all the models were there, I guess they are doing a refresh for the new models. |

I was at Sears today and looked at these. They had the two I posed above and a red version. It was basically like the orangish one except it also has a telescopic wand and variable speed. The orangish and reddish still use metal hose and wand ends and can take standard attachments. The dusting brush looks like the Panasonic/Whirlpool one in pictures but they actually changed it to plastic instead of rubber. The purple one uses the big plastic hose and wand end and takes the Elite or Progressive style attachment only.
What's odd is none of these three have headlights, and it seems only the purple one has the Pet Powermate, none seem to have the air driven tool. None of them have the LED light on the wand either. I am guessing the Elite and Elite Crossover canisters will still carry on under Cleva as the TOL versions, but I am not sure if these three new ones are replacing the current Progressive line or the current lime and orange bagged Powermate canisters. I am guessing the bagless canisters will continue production, as they still seem to be available. I did not notice whether any new uprights are available or not, if there were I didn't see them. One good thing is they still take C or Q 5055 bags. I agree on the hose swivel, I don't know why they didn't stick with the 90 degree hose end they had for 30+ years. That change isn't Cleava's though, I don't think, it seemed to have appeared with the current Elite canister, which was still Panasonic's design. |

I'm assuming the 90 degree end you are referring to is the new nonstandard end. Supposedly, it allows for better airflow than the standard end because it's wider. This is true, but the disadvantage of limiting what attachments you can use far outweighs this. |
