I recently bought an Electrolux LX at an estate sale. It works fine except for the fact that the ejector mechanism is a little screwed up. This machine has had several home repairs over the years from the looks of it. The mechanism that pushes the bag out has been tied to the back of the bag chamber. And the ejection mechanism has some broken parts. I repair vintage vacuums as a hobby, but this is my first LX and the ejection mechanics look a little complicated. All help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Electrolux LX repair.

Hi Sries: I'm the member Andy was speaking of.

For the complete history of this machine go to Electrolux XXX (30) tools, located in the 'Archives' section here at 'Vintage.'The year is 2013, and simply scroll down to January 30. The thread is by Powermate and has some great history on the early tools. Reply 86 and 87 deals with the problems of the ejection system and I've written a few repair notes that Andy has generously offered to send to you. I helped him get his ejector working. Actually all it takes is some tubing. But the history of this model is quite interesting and is covered in detail by several of our experts, along with an assortment of tools and patent info.

Good luck with the repair, and thank you Andy for offering to help,
Alex Taber.

Caligula (Little boots in Latin) was a cream colored cat, and the only mascot the Vacuum Cleaner Collector's Club ever had.

Here he is.

I posted this from memory, the date is correct but title of the thread is not, should be.

'Lux model 30/XXX tools,' and was posted by Powermate1970.
