So today I went to pick up my first rainbow ever! Off of Craigslist for $180. It is an E2. It has everything except the dusting brush and the back hepa filter cover. When I saw it today for the first time it was DIRTY!!! I did manage to clean up the machine pretty well and tomorrow I will clean up the attachments and try it out for the first time. Right now I am running it as an air purifier right now. After this me and my mom went to a flea market and fount a Simplicity Freedom for $15!!! However it didn't turn on when I plugged it in. I still bought it because It can't be anything majorly wrong with it. Then we went to another store and I found an old Eureka canister don't know much about. Would like to know more. All I know is it is in great shape, including the power nozzle. However I was wandering if anyone had a hose for it for sale because it was missing and all of the on board attachments. That was $10.

Sounds like my day yesterday! I picked up a Rainbow E series with everything for $100, and then in the same area I found a Filter Queen Princess, listed on Offer Up with only a picture, for $35.
I also found a Kirby Heritage, which is a model I had been looking for, a few weeks ago at a garage sale for $10. Congratulations on the finds. I love days like that. They are a lot of fun! |

What you have there is a first generation Eureka Roto-Matic Power Team from 1973 in excellent condition. It is the low end model from Eureka's first three power nozzle canisters: Model 1240 (Basic Harvest Gold Sweet Sixteen canister), 1260 (deluxe Burnt Orange canister with CordAway and Control Panel) and 1280 deluxe canned ham Empress II power team).
The orange 1260 was one of the highest rated power nozzle canisters in Consumer Reports tests of 1974. It looks like the power nozzle was never used!!!! :-) |

Though the original electrified hose for the Eureka 1240 would have been white or cream coloured, you can buy a brand new silver and black version at Go Vacuum - see link below:
