Interesting. Never seen one. Looks a little like a more modern version of the ones they had in the 70s. Kind of had a canister's power nozzle with a small fan built in to generate suction.

We had that exact vac at the company I used to work for. It was there and well used when I started there in 2003. It had recently been replaced by a Hoover RunAbout. One of the rear wheels wouldn't stay on so it wasn't used and was eventually trashed. I agree that it reminds me of a model they sold in the 70's. Kenmore's version of an Oreck is what it reminds me of.

They are made by Panasonic, they were sold sometime in the 90's. Panasonic also sold one as a Ultra Pro commercial model.

I remember seeing this in Sunday ad flyers from Sears. I wanna say sometime in the range of 1995. I never got the opportunity to see one in store.

I think they were priced around $50 on sale as a lightweight easy to use machine.

Sears always seemed to surprise me with a unique lightweight vac like this one - but they seemed to disappear from the Kenmore line-up after a year or two. This cleaner kind of reminds me of the Kenmore "Glide" that came out a decade ago, only to disappear soon after its debut.

I am fascinated by simple, fan-first uprights like the Hoover Platinum or the Oreck. Some of these simple classic Elite/Bravo style uprights do a great job without the added bells and whistles and bulk and weight.
