I was going to do some heavy duty cleaning today and wanted to use one vacuum(out of probably 150), to do everything from the carpeting, to cobwebs and vacuuming ceilings. I got out my 1988 Kenmore 4.5 canister which had been serviced probably over a year ago, and stored in a closet. I bought the vacuum brand new and was one of two vacuums used until I started collecting in '03. I remembered everything I like about it and why I bought it. The length of the hose, on/off switch on the hose, quick disconnect wands, tools on board, and a very high performance power nozzle quieter than any of my other machines. I also like the fact the I can vacuum under the beds and the power nozzle does not leave the floor, a big plus. The brushroll has two rows of brushes, plus a beater bar. I like the fact too that I can get the "cloth" microfiltration bags for it. I had polished it before I put it away when I had it serviced, so it was like going back to 1988 it looked so great. When I moved to St. Louis, I only brought a Eureka ESP with me and the townhouse I rented had a huge kitchen/dining area with tile floors and I needed a canister to do furniture as well. My mom bought it for me as a housewarming gift, so that makes it even more special.
