The week before I moved out, I went to my thrift store and got me a Electrolux Diplomat LX. It works overall with no problems but it didn't came with any attachments. I don't really like canisters but this one I've been wanting to get for a long time because I used to see videos of these on YouTube years ago by a collector named "Matt" before he closed his account. Anyone knows history about these? Any thoughts or opinions? I'm also not crazy about Electroluxs and I'm not really a lux collector but just advice would be helpful. I currently don't have pictures of it at the moment until I get back from fall break next month.

Are the parts still available for these like the motors, body parts, bumpers, etc? How good are the Hepa bags on these and what's the price difference?

Haven't had time to research them myself.

That model is referred to as Electrolux 2100 series.
I have several of them.
Many parts are still available, as well as hoses for them.
The Perfect HEPA filters will fit, and are an excellent bag.
Perfect makes an almost identical copy of them, with many of the parts interchangeable with the Electrolux.
There are some subtle differences between them.
So for the parts, search for Electrolux 2100.

Electrolux made two cleaners which it named "Diplomat"--the model 2100 was first out from around 1989-91 and was succeeded by the model 1677 which had the "LX" suffix (short for the Latin "lux", meaning "light") to denote its paired lighted power nozzle, model 1692. It succeeded the "Hi-Tech 2100" and was quite popular--especially in Canada. Electrolux retired it in 1992 when the Epic 6000SR was introduced.

Even though Electrolux no longer sold the style door-to-door after 1992 it did continue to produce it for its indirect sales lines through the mid-2000s, so used parts shouldn't be that difficult to obtain. Some of the other models & names (albeit in different colors) are: Models C141A, C141B/"2100"; C141C, C141E/"Lux 5000"; C141D/"Lux 2000"; & C141G/"Lux 5500".

While I was back in town this week, I happen to stop by at my storage shed and finally took a pic of what my Lux looks like so far. I can tell the hose, the filter cover, and possibly the wand was replaced from some time ago. As far as the condition goes, I think all it needs is just a new brushroll, a new bag, a new filter, and a complete cleanup.

Other than that, I was very excited to finally get a Lux that I was after for a long time now. Wasn't too sure if the parts were still available to get or not but I'm glad to know that I can still get most of the parts for this and the history of when these were produced.

Thanks for the info.
