It was being thrown away by a neighbor, mostly complete, but was missing the bag and the tools that go onto the tool holder that is fastened to the wand.

There was a ton of hair, string, yarn, carpet thread on the brushroller, got that all cleaned up, like new.

I cupped my palm on one end of the hose and blew through the other end, and there seemed to be air leakage at the fittings of the hose. Nothing is loose or broken or damaged, maybe this is why it was thrown out, and got poor reviews on various sites- poor or loss of suction through the fittings?

The Hoover Duros was made by Sanyo. The Sanyo version came in blue or red, if I remember correctly.

I cleaned one of those for an elderly lady a few months back.
It has a flat belt, and when the brush gets clogged, the belt usually goes as well. (Develops a flat spot form the brush spinning)
She paid for a new motor and belt.
There is a specific number for the motor to get it cheaper if you need it.

Duros brush motor is an E246508 motor.
they come with a long or short shaft.
I don't remember which one I had her order (probably short)
My notes are here somewhere ..
