1986 ad...

I love old ads, thanks Kenny for posting. I had to go check my satellite display room to be sure, but I do have the A model in the background. Can you see how much it was..just curious. Still runs like a top...a very LOUD top! Those Ryboi motors were ear killers. This post was about an ad, was it not?

Rick A was $334.99. Thanks. Snow69, I don't have that powerhead. If you want to discuss this further please email me. My email is in my profile.

I saw one of those Kenmores at the thrift store last year but the motor and fan was really busted up. I actually really like that Hoover that was in the picture, as well as the Ultra Pro that was in it. LOL

Rest of the ad?

I was wondering if you could post the rest of the ad, or other pages, etc. If you have them. On another note, my grandmother bought "B" at the top of the page, in '86 when she could no longer push her classic III, because of a bad shoulder. She also had a green Sears best, but she gave it to my mom the same year. Anyway, I hated that self propelled Kenmore. That thing sounded like a B-52 bomber, and wasn't even that good of a cleaner. She kept it a long time though. I grew up playing with that kirby, and green Kenmore, from the time I was about 18 months old, they say. I didn't play with my toys at her house, I played with the vacuum attachments and hoses, lol.

That is so cool. An ad showing a young son helping mom with the vacuuming. It reminds me of a Eureka Mother's Day print ad showing family members with potential Eureka gifts for mom. A teen boy about 13 or 14 years old (right about my age at the time) is holding a "breakfast in bed" tray of food with a Eureka Vanguard leaning up against him!!!

Wonder if there are more print ads out there with boys playing with a vacuum cleaner.

Eurekaprince: Here's the ad you mentioned. I had saved them as being posted by you originally. Here's the two halves:

Thank you so much, John! That's the ad I was referring too!!! Circa 1972 or 1973...that or thereabouts...and the boy is about 13 or 12...about my age at the time.

The ad is engraved in my memory as I used to bring Mom breakfast in bed on mother's day! All I was missing was a Eureka Vanguard!

(I think I was also attracted to the handsome husband holding up the Princess Canister...but that's another story....)

Some

call that the Eureka "prince" canister. I never knew the tools stored under the hood. I thought it had a larger motor than a princess, but clearly no room in it.
Besides, that would have put it at a price point up with the full size 1600 series.
