Nice find.

It looks like a commercialized Hoover Elite from the 80's, or 90's. It has a heavy duty cord, and is far more durable than any Hoover of today. It looks lightly used.
Back in the day, the Hoover Conquest was the commercial model. It was all orange, had a magnet at the front to catch staples and paper clips, and a side opening clean out on the base.

I'm not used to seeing the model number included in the serial number like that from Hoover!! Usually there is a definite space on the label or serial number on separate line. Generally the first 4 digits of Hoover serial number are date: Month, then year. Your machine is hard to tell because if the unit was C1404-001,-- as many Hoovers have 3 digits in model number post the hyphen, then your serial would read: 2110....

Though usually for the 3 digit post hyphen number it is: -040, -030, -009, -900 I can't fully recall a -001 but I'm not a Hoover expert. I have knowledge in them but not an expert!

Nice Elite based unit though. Elites clean well!

I wish I still had mine; I bought a Elite brand new when I moved out on my own but can't remember if I left it behind when I moved after that point or sold it
