There is a shroud that goes around the turbo-sander and is there to direct the dust into the bag. I've used mine for both refinishing a hardwood floor and minor drywall tasks, and it worked great on both counts. However, drywall is a messy job, it's not something any household vacuum cleaner should handle (except final clean up) that's a job for a shop-vac.
Still, based on my experience it CAN be done. But proceed with caution and keep the shroud tightly in place. |

done very large drywall jobs, only seams in one room I gutted to the studs and patching. I hate the dust, so I use a wet sponge until it is smooth and even. Along with a wet rag to move the joint cement around and even out high and low spots. |

I sanded the top of a kitchen table 9 or so years ago. I did it in the garage. It worked great, just remember to change the bag afterwards. Back then Kirby only had the Micron Magic paper bags for the G4, so I also vacuumed out the cloth bag with a canister vacuum although it didn't seem to need it.
