I made a nasty and rare find yesterday. Almost a new Hoover Elite upright founded at a flea market for 18 euros. I have a transformer allready so I have to try this on some day. Do you have anything info about this? Is this made in july 1990?

Yes that is July 1990 produced!!

Very very nice looking unit! The hood is unique, it has similarities to the Legacy style hood that was sold in the U.S. but is its own design for that model. Many models of Elites in the U.S. were 7.0 and 7.2 Amp motors. So yours being a 6.0 is also interesting.

Type A bags for your machine, the 38528-027 belt was replaced by Hoover and the new part number is 38528-040. Your brush roll looks excellent, but if and when it would need replaced you would want part number 48414081.

These are fan first direct air machines that clean very well and last many years when taken care of. Be careful installing and removing bags, it can be a little tricky with the side mounted zipper trying to minimize dust clouds upon removal and not get a hole in the bag upon the install.

Enjoy your new to you machine!!

Let us know if you need help with anything else in regards to the machine. Some other members may have more info on this particular unit as it an unusual hood and my knowledge of machines at that is limited as I have never owned a vacuum store and I would have been 7 years, 10 months old at time of the manufacture for this.

All of the early elites like this were lower amps. I don't think they changed the amps until the Elite II/ legacy era after 1990
