I guess I'll have to put this in "collections" too. Anyway, it all started with a friend giving me a 1987 Heritage II Legend.

Which one is either your favorite or the best one that you have?

Favorite or Best, Mmmmmm

Since the Heritage II Legend was the very first vac I completely restored, it will always hold a special place in my heart. It also showed me what excessive airflow can do to pick up deeply embedded dirt. The sound it makes is so exquisite that I could use it all day long until my arms give out. Soooo, I guess that makes it my favorite.

The best would have to be my newest Kirby, the Sentria II, with barely a scratch on it. A real cleaning monster with good looks to boot!

What gives me giggles every time a use it? The Hoover Tempo Widepath. Obnoxiously loud, not so great on hard floors because you can't turn the brush roll off and the furious "left leg" exhaust that could double as a hair dryer. For $80 new, add in a Crucial cloth HEPA bag, and you've got a machine with ridiculously high airflow and water lift.

The Riccar 8850 is also a deep cleaning monster. It has a great sound and hair of all types doesn't get wrapped around the metal brush roll.

When I want to show someone the dirt, you can't beat the Rainbow, but the airflow leaves something to be desired. I wonder what a 110 CFM Rainbow would be like if Rexair would ever make one.

The Hoover SteamVac Widepath does a good, but not great job as a water extractor and I've been using it for 16 years. Very loud!

The Lux 1401-B is special because it's been a family vac since day one, all 36 years of it's life. I was present when my parents had it demo'ed at our house and the salesman said, "I'll order you a new one, but you can't have this one because it's my demo model. I don't have any more vacuums in stock." My mother replied, if you refuse to sell me your demo model, I'm not buying one at all. Needless to say, he left it with us.
