I got this at an estate sale today at the eleventh hour for $20. They had it priced at $100, but I talked them down to $20. The bag was absolutely beyond full. I had to take it off and dig the crap out by hand. I'll give it the spa one day this week, and luckily, I have an original D50 bag. This is one that I have wanted for a very long time. Unfortunately, the Kirby logo in the hood is slightly melted, but I'm sure it will still shine.

Great find! Have fun on the spa day and look to seeing it when it is done. Michael |

I took the D50 apart today and cleaned it out. I repacked the bearings with white lithium grease, and boy does the motor purr. All I have to do now is polish it. Unfortunately, the glowing Kirby light melted slightly, and the word Kirby is obscured.

I gave the D50 a quick and dirty polishing today. I did it by hand using Blue Magic. The stuff absolutely obliterates oxidation on Kirby's. It only took me about 30 minutes the do the D50 with paper towels and a rag.
