The only reason I put this in the commercial/industrial category is that it was ordered from either a Uline or Grainger catalog for use in a retail store where I worked for several years. The less than memorable alphanumeric model name is a good indicator that it wasn't meant for the consumer market. It's not exactly a big brute of a machine with a sub-$100 price tag to match, but it's got great suction. The only time I remember using it at the store was to suck up the remains of a smashed snow globe, liquid and all.
We used the machine so seldom that after a couple of years, the store manager decided it was taking up more space in our crowded stockroom than it was worth and told me to take it out back and pitch it into the dumpster, but quickly added that if I pitched it into the back of my car instead, she didn't want to know about it--plausible deniability and all that. She then spent the next few minutes as we were straightening and rearranging the stock room telling me what a nice machine it was and how she just hated to throw it away, not so subtly trying to convince me to take it home. Needless to say, I took the hint without voicing my decision and wheeled the machine and its attachments out the back door, covered it with a piece of cardboard to keep the rain off, and put it in the back of my car after I closed the store that night. The machine now resides in my storage building and gets used about as often as it did at the store. The thing is about five years old and I doubt it has seen more than maybe an hour or two of use since it was new. I've only used it a couple of times in the three years I've had it but I have no complaint about its performance, given my modest needs and excessive (albeit modest compared to some of your collections) fleet of vacuums. For your viewing pleasure, I've included a link to a catalog listing at sustainablesupply.com that gives all its specs. CLICK HERE TO GO TO human's LINK |

I'm a big fan of the backpacks. I don't use them commercially, but they're great for every day cleaning of my apartment, you can check out my profile to see which ones I have. You really can clean faster with those, and they're also great for getting in to high places such as dusting the cabinets. |

I have some backpacks in my collection-find them too awkward for home cleaning--too many "bump into tradgedies".Use my central vacs or my M1.I can put the central hose onto the NSS M1 hose and use that like a "central" vacuum. |

I find my two Sebo's or "Windsors" to be the most reliable and best cleaning commercial vacuums.

I have two: a Hoover C1403 and a Sanitaire S661. The C1403 is the commercial version of the Hoover Elite 200 and the S661 is a Sanitaire that used to be offered in their blue "Professional" line. It's basically your standard 7 amp Sanitaire but with some higher end features, such as a rotating cord hook and a deluxe handle grip.

I currently work at a veterans homeless shelter and I brought in one of my numerous commercial machines for the staff to use in the office areas. Its a Minuteman MVP, one of three I got from a school sale. Its in pretty good shape and the people that do most of the cleaning really enjoy it. The last job I had they used a Castex Lite-Trac I had brought in. Ive got like three or four of those LOL!

Looking back at my previous post, I was surprised that I had failed to mention my two Sanitaires, a red series SC686 and a blue series S645, but I think this post predates those two acquisitions. Both machines have seen some modifications from stock:
The SC686 has been upgraded from a dump bag to an aftermarket F&G setup, and the brush roll has been changed to a VGII from a VGI. The S645 came to me with a damaged cord, among other things, and now has a longer 40-foot cord, instead of the stock 30-foot. I also gave it a pair of larger red series cord hooks, which I had on hand, to accommodate the new, longer cord. As a bit of a bonus, I cut off the damaged portion of the original cord, about five feet or so, and turned the remainder into a drop cord. |

So far, I've only got two, though I plan on getting more in the future.
The first of them is my Nacecare Henry HVR160. I want to say I got it around 2021 after I spent months saving up for it, and I gotta tell you, it was worth every penny. It's quiet, durable, good filtering, and extremely powerful. It was my first real high-end vacuum, and it still serves me well to this day. My only complaints about it are that smells can accumulate quickly in the bag, replacement parts are expensive and scarce here in the states, there's some weird black stuff that accumulates on the filter (though I've heard this is normal), and mine has a power switch that can arch if you press on it too quickly/hard. I've since gotten it a Wessel Werk TK286, a mini turbo tool, and a 360 degree floor tool to better clean my house. My other commercial vacuum is an older Windsor Sensor S12. I've always wanted a Sebo and/or Windsor, and around August of 2023, I got myself one off of Ebay. I specifically was looking for an older blue version, as I never really liked the look of the yellow and grey Karcher variants. However, my first mistake was going for the cheapest one. Long story short, it works, but it has a lot of teething troubles. This thing was almost definitely abused by its previous owners, which I assumed wouldn't be a big deal since Sebos are easy to repair, which I later found out to be only partially true for me. I'm not sure if I should just get another S12 and use this one for parts, or if I should take the L and try to fix what I've got. Right now it's just sitting underneath my bed. |
