It's just the switch, right?

Over the weekend, I picked up a heavily discounted Kirby Sentria II. It briefly powered on and all sounded well, except it only powers on maybe every 30 foot-switch clicks or so. I swapped the power cord with a known good one and no change in turn on behavior. Adn yes, the bag and nozzle connections were fully seated.

I did get it to briefly power on for over 10 seconds and the motor/bearings sounded perfect. So I take it that this issue can be resolved by replacing the switch? I just want to make sure I order all the parts necessary to make this beast run (which so far appears just to be the switch).

And I am surprised that if the issue really is just the switch, a 2012 Sentria II has a part that failed so quickly.

it is possibly the switch or the safety switch, I have had issues with the safety switches in the past on the earlier G series machines.

"safety switch" and the switch itself were the same thing. I'm not counting the rear foot pedal. Specifically part number 110590.

Is most likely the fix for this problem.  If you have never done it, is a fairly complex repair on a G series Kirby. The machine needs to be nearly completely disassembled to replace it.
