Good little video-like how the cat wants to steal the scenes! The cat reminds me of a cat we used to have when I was a child.Like the demo of picking up flour off the kitchen floor with the Dyson cordless vac-the other machine snowplowed the flour and wouldn't pick it up.Did you all notice another Siamese like cat laying on the HVAC unit? And noticed the filter in the Dyson had cat hair on it-the scene stealer cat liked sniffing it.That man put on a good demo!!

Notice the lack of carpet every where. Yes it is a cute video though.

I'm sure that wasn't a Dyson produced video, but I must say, they make some good ones. And this one is too - adorable kid and cat. Almost makes me want the upcoming V8. Love my Rainbow, but I have pets and often vacuum before work. My Riccar Supralite is a great machine for ease of use / quick cleaning, but no cord would be even better. And there is something about seeing and dumping all the dirt after cleanup that is very satisfying. I'm sure that's one reason the baggless vacs have become popular.

Do hard plastic baggless vacs smell like bagged ones inevitably do as the bag gets full? No amount of adding scent or charcoal to the bad seems to get rid of all the smell. Nor do fancy filters. I've tried the best on offer and bagged vacuums still sometimes smell. Never owned a bagless like Dyson or Shark. I've always disliked Dyson because it is expensive and feels so darned cheap with all that creaky, hard plastic.

On the plastic bagless vacuums-the plastic will absorb odors if the machine isn't dumpted after each major use.Storing debris in the machine will cause it to smell-same thing as with cloth dump bag vacuums.Frequent dumping will keep down the smells. And cleaning-replacing their filters. The cyclones in Dysons and similar vacuums will eventually collect a fine dust that contains odors. This has to be cleaned out.You have to take the machine apart to do this.

Thanks, Tolivac. I can live with daily dumping and periodic cyclone cleaning - if it keeps the majority of the smell away. And no cord. I switched from gas weed eater to battery power and will never go back to gas.

I also have a cordless electric weedeater-yes,much better than gas.Quieter, and no smell or messy gas-oil mixing.I have been eyeing a cordless electric chainsaw and hedge shears!I don't use bagless vacuums as a whole except WaterMatic,SilverKing, and a Beam bagless central vac.Just using the beam adn the SK since I just added them to my collection.
