Just thought I would share. These are the vacuums I use at work. Not familiar with these but as far as I know, they are very expensive like one time we had to replace one of the engines on one of them which was like $10,000, they use a familiar filtration system just like on the self-cleaning central vacs where you shake the filters clean and you just empty the can in the trash which I don't like because it's very messy and very heavy to empty everyday. But overall I really like these as it is very powerful, it has the best suction I have ever used on a vacuum. We have another one that is set up as a carpet cleaner we use in the detail shop which cleans very well. Only thing I don't like is that it can't pick up sand or pet hair that well on cars unless if it's a Mercedes or a Land rover because they have carpets that are so easy to clean up.

...to my first job vacuuming cars at the Constan car wash in Raleigh.

Now I can't get that old Jim Croce song about "those steadily depressin' low-down mind-messin' workin' at the car wash blues" out of my head.

Crazy

That company is one exit up from me and all the years growing up passing by I always wondered what spencer turbine was. I always figured it was an aviation thing since we have a lot of businesses in CT that build parts for planes and helicopters. It wasn't till a couple years ago that I figured out what they were!!! Talk about feeling like a idiot haha

Spencer makes some pretty cool stuff besides vacuums.

"Manufacturers blowers, vacuum systems, separators, aeration blowers and gas boosters."

As far as their vacuums, they have been at it a long time ..

Spencer Turbine also built organ blower compressors-under the name "Orgoblow"The car wash vacuums I see have one of the Spencer Turbine blowers connected to a large AC motor-a tank containing the filters before the blower.A hose connects to the inlet on the filter tank-you use that with tools to vacuum your car-either coin operated or used by car wash workers.
