I am now a declared Compact/Tristar fan and collector. I just found this green C7 at my local Goodwill outlet store. I was originally just buying the hose for my C5 but decided to take the vacuum too when I saw that it was better than average condition with minimal paint chips and a complete badge. It cleaned up nicely. The inside was very clean and the motor filter must be the original because it was rotted into crumbles and dust. It runs great and has powerful suction. A couple of questions: When was the C7 manufactured, and why did they change to a lower rated motor (6 amp) from the C5 (7 amp? It seems to be about as powerful as my Tristar CXL rated at 7.5 amps? The C7 will make a nice companion to my CXL restoration project also pictured.

Mike,

It appears your C7 was made in 1971.

As to motor size change, I know a dedicated, longtime Compact/TriStar fan on here could better answer you.

Meanwhile - yesterday I had been given a 1966 Kirby Dual Sanitronic 50 that was all but abandoned. . .

Looks great, and what a deal!
