I've had to make a few repairs like that to transit damaged items. It always really cheeses me off when sellers/shippers are that careless. I hope you complained and got at least a partial refund. Careless sellers/shippers need to be held responsible for their (in)actions. I guess the flip side of that coin is it makes me doubly appreciative of sellers who do take the time to properly package their items and/or voluntarily step up to make good when things get busted. All that said, I'm glad you were able to fix it. I agree that what you did doesn't look bad at all and you should get years of good service out of that machine, which is the most important part.
