I'm milling around, checking out this Legend 2 that I was super excited to get recently. But, I notice something very confusing on it. On the sticker on the bottom of the motor case it says "Heritage 2, model 2HD". Says the same thing behind the brush head. But everything else screams LEGEND 2! The bag, wheels, brush head, chord, front plate on the handle, you name it, it all says and is appropriate for a Legend 2! So what is it??

As you might have expected, this was just a trim update (and some internal updates as well) to the basic Heritage II. Even the Heritage II Legend (1987-89), from which the Legend II is largely derived, had no mention of "Legend" on the nameplate affixed to the motor unit.

Zach,

The Heritage II Legend is Identical in every way to the Legend II except for the color scheme.

Same motor, same brushroll, same bag, same everything.

Thanks for the information guys. Really not sure why they'd not just make it it's own model, it'd be less confusion, but of course corporate knows best ;)

As told to me....

I was told that the last Legend was kind of a "fill-in" model for the salesman to sell due to the new Generation III was not doing so well in the testing before it's release. I don't know if it was the transmission or what. I'm sure there's someone on here that can enlighten us.
