Hey guys n gals.. I just recently acquired a 2002 model Hoover Caddy Vac, very good condition my only concern is that the green nylon bristles on the brushroll are soft.. But the airflow n suction on that thing is like very very high... I'm using a type Y hepa bag as well to maintain that awesome airflow..
Do y'all think with such high suction and airflow that those soft bristles will still deep clean a high pile carpet? I was thinking of buying a new replacement off eBay with stiffer bristles..!
Any Feedback would be great.. Thanks 😎

Originally when the Caddy Vac hit the market the bristles were a stiff light colored blue.

The Caddy Vac will do just fine to replace it with a standard stiffer 48414081 brush roll! The 48414081 brush is the same fit as that as Hoover Elite uprights, Hoover Futura and PowerMax canisters they all have the same compatible brush roll. Hoover just made machines with variable brush rolls. I remember seeing when the TurboPower 2000 Caddy Vac came out with the green softer brush roll. It was a shock because prior version Caddy Vac 3700 TurboPower had the stiffer blue colored brush roll.

There is a white colored bristle one that is an acrylic brush roll and a groove visible in the brush roll. I would go with that one! Don't get the all black CWP, it won't work good as you'd like.

Also to use a Type Y bag you're probably folding in some of the top and bottom section of the bag. A Type Z will do you just fine. Though there is a HEPA similar cloth bag set up in green packaging made by Envirocare and those are sized as Y but would would very well in your Hoover Caddy Vac!
