Hey everyone, so I decided to get the collection of sidewinder attachments that have the 1.25 inch fitting, there are 4 of them, a hard floor brush, a carpet tool, a dusting brush and a furniture attachment. Apparently they are designed for straight wands rather than wands with a curve. After opening the box and looking at the attachments I was wondering if this would really work, if you hold the hose of a canister vacuum in the usual position, the brush will not really be touching the floor, then I tried raising the hose a bit, to around face or head level and realized that this is what you are supposed to do with these tools, I guess they are designed to let you clean while standing more in the normal position. And, upon trying it, it really is more comfortable and you can sweep the floor brush from side to side, some really nice attachments. Has anyone else tried these? I think they also make them with 1.5 inch fittings.

more comments on the sidewinder attachments

Well, I put the attachments through their paces this weekend, especially the hard floor brush. It really is easier in some ways, you clean with the hose standing almost straight up, I put my left hand on the handle and my right hand on the hose. The biggest issue I've found is that you can't clean under things such as tables with this brush, I guess it assumes you are cleaning open areas with it rather than residences.

more on sidewinder

I actually spent some time this weekend to really figure out how to use these tools, I think I was using them incorrectly before, you can clean with the hose standing almost straight up but you don't need to do that, you can clean in the normal position as well. These tools are awesome when cleaning stairs and for edge cleaning. This could become my new favorite hard floor cleaning tool now that I know how to use it properly. Here is a video that describes how they work.
