That's awful. Looks like a previous owner also installed their own set of casters on the dolly as those shown in the pic are not original.

That thing must have taken quite an impact or abuse, because these are tough.  My daughter rides the dolly for my D2 like one of those skate boards in gym class.

I have stood a dresser on one and moved it across the room, 40+years and still in one piece.

Why

are some people so cruel?
No shipping peanuts or wrap to cushion it. Just take the money and run.
Last week, someone tried to change the address to Brooklyn NY on one of my credit cards after they spent $3,000 at a best buy.
I called Chase as soon as I got the fraud alert, and they were calling on another line still trying as I was on the phone with them. They traced the call.
I hope they catch them.

Samuel,

You should get the entire $111.00 back, and E-Bay will help you. Do contact them.
The part is unusable and un repairable.

Choco Dolly....

Sam, I too am looking for a chocolate brown caster set for my D2. Seems that , from what I have amassed, the plastic that they used for this run was either cheaper, or molded thinner than the earlier style. NO one, has one, or even can remember the last time they saw a Chocolate D2 with it's orig dolly; or are unwilling to part with one, as it goes to their machine, and certainly KNOW that it's a rare find. Most are sitting on the later D3 bases according to my many sources. I'm at the point of just acquiring a earlier base, and do some shopping for color match paint, and just spray up one. At this point I'd have better luck getting zapped in the buhunkas by a bolt of lightening, then finding one. :-)

Go ahead and get eBay in on this dispute. Document your communications with the seller thus far and chances are you'll get a satisfactory resolution. Your request for a $20 refund is more than generous.

I don't know much about rainbows, but sometimes the pigments used in plastics can cause them to become brittle. That seems to be the case with the 'cabernet' colored Kirby G5 vacuums. My understanding is the lower cord hook breaks off on those far more frequently than it does on any other G series Kirby. That's why mine came to me with a charcoal one from a G4.

After checking my stock at the rainbow office I work out of I have come across a couple of the chocolate brown Dolly's, Sam if you are interested. The plastic is thicker than the D dolly and is still pretty pliable.

Here is one I just cleaned up.
