I found a General Electric Swivel Top With The Reusable Bag at a garage sale in 2012, for $1 ,its has a lot of rust on it, its very quiet, unlike my shop vac qsp. and has a lot of suction, its a green color with a silver on and of pedal in the front, and a silver cord retract pedal in the back.

I want to say 1959 but not sure. It's hard to stop an old GE, I have a few in my collection, one being the Premier after the GE's were discontinued. There's a history there but forgot what it is..lol. Definitely quieter than a shop vac I'm sure.

That one is

1962, the earlier ones were different in that they had cast aluminum side clamps and handle, and a smaller tool bucket held on with a single pin, the very first models had a white vinyl hose.

I wonder if I could still find bearings or carbon brushes for this vacuum, its one of my favorite vacuum cleaners, i would like to restore this awesome vacuum get rid of the rust spots primer it and repaint it close to the original color
