The Vacuum Cleaner Museum, in St. James, Missouri was the recipient recently of an extraordinary donation from long time vacuum collector Fred Nelson. Fred recently relocated from Chicago to gorgeous Palm Springs. After the move, Fred was so kind to send several boxes of New Old Stock parts to the Vacuum Museum. My eyes were as big as pancakes when I opened the boxes to find NOS Kirby parts (cloth bags, brush rolls, trim parts, cords, switches, even a black cloth bag for the Kirby 505). In addition, Fred sent NOS brush strips for VERY vintage Hoovers (from the model 700 onwards), belts, even a headlight lens for the Convertible 65. And so much more.

Thank you SO MUCH to Fred. Some of these beautiful New Old Stock parts will be used for the Museum's collection - to make it even more complete and original. Many other parts are going to be given away to collectors who attend the annual Vacuum Collectors Convention which is held every June, the second weekend, at the Vacuum Museum. We will give them away "lottery style" in which a collector who is interested in a particular part or item will put their name into a drawing, and the winner will get that part. Everyone will have an equal chance.

Fred, you are an amazing person for having done this. On behalf of the Vacuum Cleaner Museum, as well as the collectors themselves who will benefit from these one of a kind restoration parts, Thank You from the bottom of our hearts.

More to come as I sort through all this stuff accumulated over the years. No space for it now. Glad to know it will go to those who will appreciate it. Charlie and I are talking about coming out in June.

That is a very nice, generous donation to the museum! It's wonderful to know that there are still wonderful people in the world such as Fred whom are willing to make special donations like these.

Is sounds like the parts will become a wonderful part of the museum in addition to some being used to help other collectors whom are seeking brand new, pristine parts to improve and further beautiful his or her collection.
