Ooh I love it, I would love to have one. I grew up with a very similar machine. A Red Hoover Sprint with an identical design except the motor in the one I grew up with had a motor with slightly more amps. otherwise, identical.

I adore your machines! Mine came from some friends who were moving to Florida and they didn't need it anymore.

I meant those machines, I forgot you didn't have one. I wish you the best of luck at acquiring another one!

They are great machines, indeed

Hard to believe they're now 'vintage'.

They were never intended to 'replace' the 'Convertible', but, it happened.  They couldn't make them fast enough, I was told . I have a few of them myself.

I remember we sold the Elite 200 at Woolworth's for $59.99 in the early '90's. I remember when Elites where EVERYWHERE, very few and far between nowadays. All it took was a hard object and the fan (and or fan housing) was history.

I never cared for mom's much, it had a vibration that made my finger nails buzz, and not much suction. Ages later thinking that she used it on the outdoor carpet on the patio and perhaps broke off a fan blade. That was what killed it 15 years later, that thing exploded, housing went with it. No wonder my Eureka out cleaned it at the time.

I miss my grandmas elite. Was the burgundy model with headlight, with white tools on the side and rear and silver hose coiled on tool caddy. Not sure what model it was.

It's no secret that they're excellent machines. I have another Elite 200 with a brushroll that has two rows of bristles. It pulls me across the carpet!
