It's been a while since I've made a post, so I've gotten many new machines since then!
To start: -Non PN Rainbow D2- cost me $50, pretty much complete except for the sprayer. It's in fairly good condition with some surface rust on the dolly. It runs with the usual bearing noise. The hose is worn and also appears to have a clog. It was owned by the seller's parents. -Hamilton Beach Deep Clean- a collector friend found this for me. It works with some bearing noise but the filter corroded and the wheels are missing. (Any places I could look to get wheels for this?) It has the owner's manual with it. -Electrolux G- a neighbor gave this to me. It runs close to perfectly. It was her aunt's and it sat in her basement for many years. No tools except for the hose. One of the wheels fell apart while cleaning it so I glued it back together for now. It seems to be holding up ok. -Hoover Slimline- I heard that this version with the cordwinder is uncommon. It works well but the hose was missing. I am using a Dial-A-Matic hose until I can find a proper hose for it. The same friend got this, the Hamilton Beach and another machine from a vac shop an hour away from where I live. -Fantom Cyclone XT- this came from the same vac shop. It works perfectly now-only needing the brushroll bearings oiled. Mechanically it's perfect- unusual for a Cyclone XT. -Graybar handvac- that same friend found this for me at a charity tool shop. It has some bearing noise but it powers up. I never knew there was a Graybar hand vac! It looks to be a rebadged Singer. Last photo: I'm not sure if I posted this before, but I also bought these four vacs from an old scrapper guy for $45: Premier Upright: Decent shape, bag is intact, two speed motor, light works, motor needs to be serviced. Kenmore KenKart: Motor works but body is in very poor condition. Surface rust is seen on both the body and the cart. Metal trim on right side is missing. Filter and bag were both in poor shape and has to be thrown out. This is a restoration project. No tools or hose. The one pictured fits it but it's not the original. Royalaire: motor either needs to be replaced or rebuilt. Vacuum itself is in good condition. Has hose and one tool. Montgomery Ward: Works well. Has surface rust and hose is shot. No tools. Filter and body are intact. |
