Picked up this nice concept U3103 power drive today for $10. Looked pretty clean so figured why not. Little dirty but it will shine up nice. Slightly on the noiser side for a two speed concept I think but it's not too bad. Power drive works excellent.

I had this exact machine!! But this one is in much better condition than I one I got for a penny at age 7.
For $10 that's a great deal. As for the noise, it most likely needs general service. I don't believe it will take much to get one of these running silky smooth again.
Congrats on this find, my old Concept One served us well before we moved homes. So there's no doubt this will give you many more years of excellent cleaning power.

Especially for $10!!! That's very similar to my red Concept. They clean amazingly and they are very durable. Yours apparently to be in excellent shape too. I found a green one for $25 a while ago that I snatched up too. Cosmetically it needs a little help but it cleans like it was new.

Thanks fox. I have always loved concepts since a kid. My grandfather has two he uses all the time at his home. Love their sound and style. Really want one with the chunky grip and cloth outer bag again. Hopefully some day.

I'm a fan of the chunkier handle grip too, it allows you turn turn the PowerDrive off without having to hold the button down continuously.

No problem Husky. And good to hear that there's still some being used as daily drivers. This was practically the machine that started my love for old Hoovers. I hope to find one in this good a shape one of these days. Oh you mean the early models I assume, one of those rarely pop up online, but I'm certain you'll come across one down the road. Just gotta keep lookin'!

Some of my concepts I've had. The blue ones are my grandpas. I took one of them

Miss my concept two but it had some issues.

Great machines!

I have a few (in every color...to quote Jackie K.) I just got a Concept TWO... never had one of them. It was quite dirty, but I'm sure it will be fine.
They are monsters for cleaning. They've been called the Dial A Matic with everything corrected.
I do LOVE the tool setup on those Dial A Matics, though.

I absolutely love the sound of the concepts. One of my most favorite Hoover sounds. Very recognizable. Also not many machines can groom as well as the concept! Thanks to that excellent brush roll.

Indeed.

This is not a "sissy" vacuum. They meant business at Hoover when they made these.
