Sharing a pic from a new project. I don't see that many wiring pics on here.

I am going to make one 2100 style vac from 2 .

My sister-in-law is borrowing my Ambassador II for now.

Her Hi-Tech 2100 was a mess - burnt smell, power reel falling apart, loose and overheated wires, electrical tape, etc. Someone did not work on it properly before.

functionally, I know how it all gets wired correctly.

So I pulled it apart, temporarily fixed what I could to to get it running properly.

With the motor & harness out of the housing, It is easier to diagnose & make sure everything is working OK.

It is interesting to turn the individual switches on & off & visualize how it works as well as having any corresponding lights come on.

For the thermal light to illuminate, it only requires disconnecting 1 wire.

Option 1 - rewire it. I have everything to do this.

Option 2 - put the motor in my old LE that needs a motor.

I like the simplicity of the LE, mine did not have a bag lockout switch, but that is easily added.

The wiring diagrams for a 2100 online are minimal at best, and do not properly explain how it all works.

Every wire going to a switch in the picture below shows signs of overheating :)

The correct size & terminals style (piggyback, flag, and smaller ones for the switches) is crucial to wring repair, as well as a good crimper ..
