I've posted several times about my multigenerational Kirby G5 with its G4 handle back, Sentria brush roll and Ultimate G bag assembly. It as now gotten yet another generation added to it in the form of what purports to be a G3 power cord.

The original burgundy cord is a little the worse for wear and has been so ever since I've had the machine. The anchor that screws down to the back of the motor housing is gone and it has a replacement plug but it's otherwise in decent shape. Still, I've been on the lookout for a replacement at a good price and haven't been too picky about the color since so much else is mismatched on the machine.

To that end, I found a brand new light gray genuine Kirby cord on the cheap. It is supposedly for a G3 although the color matches the Ultimate G emptor almost perfectly. I'm not sure whether Kirby recycled that shade of gray from the G3 to the Ultimate G, but that is of no consequence. It came in today's mail and I installed it immediately, upping the ratio of gray to burgundy and helping the mostly gray Ultimate G bag assembly look a little more like it belongs there, especially the light gray emptor, which I have at times thought of replacing with the original burgundy one but not anymore.
