My mother told me of a canister carpet extractor that her parents had in the 1960s.

Description:
-Canister type
-low, squat
-round
-prone to tipping over and spilling contents
-1960s
-household model

If anyone has any information on any houshold extractors from the 1960s and maybe pictures I would be greatful.

Thanks in advance,
-Richard

Richard,

My guess would be an early Bissel, or a Singer or Kenmore power spray by Ryobi.
Try some web searches for "photos" of 60's retail catatlogues.
