This is going to be the first time that i shampoo my carpets with the kirby, when I was looking for kirby shampoo on ebay I came across a few other dry foam concentrate from kirby, lindhaus and a few other brands so what is the best product that you have used and what is your take on the diy recipes that use a very little amount of dish soap? Thanks everyone!

I don't know which is best.  But it is usually best practice to use the formula designed with the system.

Hi,

kirbymodel2c's profile picture

Id use only genuine Kirby carpet shampoo and their other shampoo products.

I have used other foam products and found Kirby's own to be the best.

Some of the cheap shampoo's aren't very good and some are ok for the price.

Don't use DIY recipe shampoo'sundecided

Foam;

I was going to suggest Amway LOC diluted a bit, or Blue Lustre, but I see I posted it on the vintage thread with my photos somehow.

I've always had satisfactory results with Kirby shampoo. Can't see trying another Brand

Yeah, the dish soap method is a bad idea! Kirby Shampoo is designed to crystallize and leave no residue. If you use dish soap you are going to be leaving that stuff in your carpet. Unless you go back over it with an extractor of some sort.

And remember the people who come up with these ideas on how to make a homemade carpet shampoo are probably not chemists. And do not have an understanding of how the dry shampoo method works.

I use Electrolux Turbo Shampoo with the Rug Washer or B8 Carpet Beautifier
