Mom's Kenmore Quick Clean died

My mom's Kenmore Quick Clean cord reel bagless upright broke today, that she bought in 2005. She was vacuuming and said the plastic just started cracking into pieces. She really liked it and used it on the carpets mostly. I don't know if she will replace it as she still has her 1999 Kenmore Whispertone canister, but she thought it doesn't clean the carpets as well as that Quick Clean did.

I noticed the Sears site has all new uprights, all of the Intution bagged and bagless I liked are gone. The new bagless ones mostly seem to be similar to Sharks, and there are some basic bagless ones and some high end bagged. I always liked the Progressive Direct Drive the most, a friend had the bagless one with Intelliclean that I used a few times and it had the gentle sweep setting and hard floor attachment also. I would have the bagged version if I ever found one.
