Can anyone provide any information on the Coronado Upright vac shown in the pics? When I search VL for Coronado the only matches were for canister vacs.

The only part it appears to be missing is a headlight socket under the headlight cover - there are not any holes in metal where it would have fastened too, do you have any knowledge on what the socket would have looked like or where/how it fastened as maybe I can find something to make the headlight work as I am restoring the machine.

Wasn't "Coronado" the appliance brand for Western Auto?

No

That was Wizard, I think it was a company called Gambles Gimbles????Not a Southern store, at least I never heard of it as a kid.

So is it a Gamble's product or a Cadillac product, built by Clements Manufacturing Chicago. Gamble's was like an Ace Hardware, correct?

Gambles was kind of a small dept store and auto type store.I remember them as being out West and Midwest. The farming areas of the country.

I think that switch on the motor housing is to switch on the headlight power. Cadillac uprights were known for that. But, you're saying that there is no socket to attach a bulb to?

Correct, there was no socket under the housing - nothing was inside for woring either.

Fascinating vacuum. Beautiful design. All machines of this era were designed so well. I love these more obscure machines, to pull away sometimes from the more common hoovers and such of the time.

Do you still want to know what the light socket looked like?

Do you even still have the machine?

Am I too late?

Will I stop asking questions?

Chicago Mike exists. I don't believe he posts here anymore. I'm pretty sure the vacuum in question is long gone.
