HI, can anyone please tell me how to remove the handle yoke, "Y" part of the lower handle, from the motor section of a Eureka Model G vacuum? There is not enough flex in the handle yoke to spread both sides apart and slide over the knubs they click into.

Maybe no one knows! I have a couple of similar-vintage Eurekas and have never had to remove the handle so I don't know how. Good luck...!

"not enough flex"

IF you are lucky there might be just enough flex.I have removed a yoke on a similar age and style upright gently prying with a flat screwdriver.Might be best if warm and not at winter temps.Although it worked I felt I was very close to breaking it.Is also good to examine and get an idea of how much you can remove and then NO more.Good Luck.

WELL I FIGURED it out how to remove the handle yoke, the entire motor assembly needs to me reomved, then you get access to 2 nuts that when removed allows the yoke to simply fall off... The only part that sucks is putting the wiring back inside as there are 2 switches, along with everything else.. BUT the handle yoke is removed!

Is that the power switch mounted on the bottom?

The switch on the bottom is high/low speed.
